How about "untapped"? Gets away from the floor a little and focuses on us as new artists...? As an untapped source of talent and new ideas..? I really hate sounding so damn cheesey!!lol. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the floor! but some of the names we've thought of have some negative connotations, and I think we keep getting carried away with the nature theme. Only a few of us actually have nature-related work... I think relying COMPLETELY on the floor and the unfinished walls to sell the title of the show, is a little crazy. IT'S CRAZY!! There, I said it! And undergrowth sounds like the shit growing inside somebody's dirty underwear.. This is Ryan, in case you wanna yell at me for bashin' that one...

If you weren't at the press today, we voted on the most popular three: Undergrowth, Dirty Work, and Gaining Ground. Have a major decision prepared for Thursday in class. If you want to make any effort to sell why the title you like should be chosen, please do it!
For me, I think Gaining Ground is a good example of something that explains who WE are and what we're doing, but then when people show up to the exhibition they will see that it's also a pun and I think that's an amusing idea.
Believe or not, I agree with Ryan, in order to choose a name based on "us", not "the place". It's got to make sense, even though, for any reason, we ended up having this show somewhere else. In choosing a right name, we have to consider 2 things: What we are (new and talented artists),and what we're going to do (having a show for the first time). Therefore, I'm for: "Exposing Untapped", "Exposing THE Emergence", "Ripening Raw"(this one is for Jessica:), "Emerging Grass Roots"(for nature-oriented ones), or anything else in that regard. Let's disscuss this before the class, so we can vote at the biggining of the class.
